An Igbo trader identified as Bridget Patience Agbahwe, a
member of Deeper Life Ministry, Brigade Quarter, Kano, from Orodo, Mbaitoli,
Imo State, was gruesomely murdered at a local market in Kano, Nigeria on
Thursday, June 3, 2016 by angry Muslim youths after a religious argument.
The woman, who sells plastics at the Wambai market was beheaded over allegations that she blasphemed Prophet Muhammad. Her husband who was in her company when she was killed managed to escape alive by the timely intervention of Policemen who whisked him to safety before he could be killed.

The Ohaneze Ndigbo, a socio cultural organization of Igbo
people, Kano state chapter, led by Chris Azuka, condemned the killing and
called for a thorough investigation to arrest the perpetrators.
